6-Week Craftsman Program

  Instructor: Rosewood Studio Instructor

Dates:  Sept 7, 2010 (1st week runs Tuesday to Saturday)

  Tuition: $4,300 Cdn

Our 6-Week Craftsman Program is ideal for those who can arrange a continuous 6 week period of intensive study, and includes all of the skill building courses in the series, providing a thorough introduction to the techniques used in fine furniture making. In addition to the skill building exercises in this program, students have the opportunity to build a small table and a cabinet or lidded box. They enjoy the advantage of an uninterrupted stretch of time in which to immerse themselves in their work, with a degree of continuity not available when individual courses of the series are separated by time. Those enrolled in the 6 week program also realize a savings of over $450 compared to the cost of taking the equivalent classes individually.

Our 6 Week Craftsman Program consists of the following classes: Excellence With Hand Tools, Mastering MachineryJoinery For Furniture Makers,  Drawers and Doors, Advanced Forms and Processes, and Final Details.

Each individual arrives at Rosewood with a unique skill set; to that end, we tailor the program slightly to the needs of each student. We encourage students to slow down and truly learn each skill – speed will come in time to those with a firm grasp of the basics of their craft. Upon completion of the 6-Week Craftsman Program, students will have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of fine furnituremaking and the skills required to build finely crafted solid wood furniture.
